All kinds of performance and luxury cars, modern and heritage, are catered for by London-based exhaust system manufacturer QuickSilver. In contrast to some aftermarket exhaust makers, QuickSilver’s products aren’t just about the noise. Rather, they’re about being in tune with all the sounds an engine produces and emphasising what creates its unique character. At the time of the company’s founding, in 1973, it was generally agreed in the motor industry that an average exhaust system had a lifespan of 18 months. QuickSilver believed that better-quality exhausts could be made using the latest stainless steel. This also afforded other major benefits, such as reduced weight, more efficient gas flow, and superior ability to dissipate heat.
The use of stainless steel enables QuickSilver to offer unprecedented guarantees on the lifespan of its exhausts. Its stainless steel uses as much as 90 per cent recycled metals. Its exhaust systems for high-performance cars are split into three classifications: Sports, SuperSports, and SuperSportsPlus. This gives some indication of the level of sound you can expect to get from each one. A Sports system will be suitable for day-to-day use, while the SuperSports designs have features more suited to a weekend use car, and SuperSports Plus is intended purposely for track use, or for an owner who wants to have the ultimate level of control over the level of their exhaust’s sound.
